Novak Djokovic, the World No.1 and four-time Wimbledon champion, will make his 2023 grass-court debut at the Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic next week. The Serbian star will headline a strong field at the prestigious exhibition event, held at the Hurlingham Club in London from 27 June to 1 July.


The event is part of the ATP Champions Tour and features some of the best players in the world, as well as legends of the game. Djokovic will play his first match on Thursday, 29 June against world No.10 Frances Tiafoe, who has been in fine form on grass this season. The last time the two met was at the Laver Cup in 2022, where Djokovic won 6-1, 6-3.


Djokovic will use the event as a warm-up for his Wimbledon title defense, where he will aim to win his sixth trophy. The Serbian has not played since winning the French Open earlier this month, where he completed his 23rd career Grand Slam by beating Casper Ruud in a thrilling final.

Other players confirmed to play at the Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic include World No.2 Carlos Alcaraz, who won his maiden Grand Slam title at the US Open last year, World No.4 Casper Ruud, who reached his first Grand Slam final at the French Open this year.
