New Zealand defeated India in 1st ODI of the ongoing three match bilateral ODI series between these two sides by 7 wickets with the help of brilliant 4th wicket partnership between Kane Williamson and Tom Latham. Initially, New Zealand winning the toss invited India to bat first and the Men in Blue posted a big total of 306/7 on board with the help of scintillating fifty-plus scores from Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer while stunning cameo from Washington Sundar accelerated their team to reach a 300-plus total. Tim Southee and Lockie Ferguson picked 3 wickets to their name respectively.

New Zealand despite facing an initial hiccup in first 20 overs of run-chase, defeated Indian side with the help of stunning century from Tom Latham. Tom Latham's 145 run-knock comprised of 19 boundaries and 5 sixes and his destructive innings completely changed the tempo of their side as they ended up winning this game with almost 3 overs to be spared from a difficult situation of 88/3 in 20 overs. 

Umran Malik impressed everyone in his debut game by bowling at a fiery pace and ended up picking 2 wickets to his name while Thakur picked the key wicket of opening batsman Finn Allen respectively.
