OGC Nice midfielder Alexis Beka Beka reportedly threatened to commit suicide by jumping off the Magnan Bridge. The reports suggested that the player has been going through a relationship break-up, and police officers as well as psychologists were dispatched by the club to help the player. The player reportedly stood on the Magnan viaduct, 100 metres above the ground and threatened to jump off it.

As per the reports published in BFMTV, the footballer stood on the 100-metre-high viaduct, which is located on the A8 motorway to the north-west of the city of Nice. Meanwhile, the reports by Var Matin, the 22-year-old player were later counselled by the firefighters and police officials.
Due to the incident, the football club decided to postpone their weekly media activities, where the manager Francesco Farioli was to address a press conference on Friday, September 29. With the player taking such a drastic step, the club decided to cancel all their other activities and turned their focus on the safety of their player.

Notably, the Frenchman became a part of the club in 2022 from CSKA Moscow. As per RMC, Alexis’ fellow footballers tried to contact his girlfriend, who was expected to make it to the site in a few minutes. Speaking of the team, the Ligue 1 side, who currently sit second in the standings, will now lock horns with Brest FC on Sunday, October 1.
