Former Olympic gold medallist wrestler, Kyle Snyder of the United States on Monday, May 19 was pleaded guilty after being initially arrested in a prostitution sting. Snyder, who is often regarded as one of the most successful wrestlers in the US history, has been posed with comparatively lesser charges of disorderly conduct in the case.

Initially, the wrestler was charged with engaging in prostitution following his arrest on May 9 at a motel in Columbus, Ohio. Moreover, a judge ordered him to pay USD 250 fine, along with a rehabilition program which he completed. Thereafter, Snyder, who appearaed in an online hearing, confirmed of learning from his mistakes.

“I’ve learned a lot through this process. It’s taught me a lot about myself, and I plan making better decisions. I learned about the impact these decision have on not just my family but the community as well,” he said as quoted by ESPN. However, with the charges, Kyle Snyder remains temporarily suspended for the “allegations of misconduct” by SafeSport.

USA Wrestling yet to announce on Kyle Snyder’s suspension

With the 29-year-old temporarily suspended for his actions, it is to be seen if USA Wrestling will keep Snyder’s spot or SafeSport should lift the suspension. Speaking of the 29-year-old laurels, Snyder became the youngest America wrestler to win Olympic gold at the age of 20 during the 2019 Rio de Janeiro Games. It followed with a silver, which came at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Snyder however, lost his bronze medal match at last year’s Olympic Games in Paris. As of now, he recently signed on with Real AMerican Freestyle wrestling league, which also includes icons such as Hulk Hogan as its Commissioner. With its first event set to be held on August 30 in Cleveland, it has t be seen if Snyder will play a part in it after pleading guilty in the prostitution case.
