The 36th annual WWE SummerSlam, one of the big four premier live events on the calendar, is set to go down at the Ford Field in Detroit on August 5 of this year. In the build-up to what’s been billed as, “The Biggest Party of the Summer,” let’s take a look back at one of the most exciting matches in the event’s history, which happened on this day last year.

It was at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville, on July 30, 2022, when Roman Reigns defended his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar in a last-match standing match. Before the fight began, the Beast-Incarnate brought out the tractor to the ringside, which didn’t please the Head of the Table, who was standing inside the ring.

Then, Lesnar jumped off the front loader of the tractor onto Reigns to start ripping off German Suplexes one after another. Paul Heyman, the special counsel, caused a distraction to help the champion putting the challenger through the table with the Samoan Drop.

Both Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns exchanged their finishing moves F5 and Spear on each other to get that elusive 10 count but to no avail. This led to the challenger driving the tractor into the ring to lift it up and destroy it completely, as the champion tumbled down to the floor.

Then, Jimmy and Jey Uso came out to the ring to protect the championship reign of the Tribal Chief, but the Beast managed to put them out of the equation for the time being. Austin Theory, who held the Money in the Bank contract at that time, made his way to the ringside for a potential cash-in, but Brock Lesnar took him out with an F-5 before it could have happened. The challenger also took out his former advocate Paul Heyman with an F-5 through the announcer’s table too.

At the very end, it was Roman Reigns, who literally buried Brock Lesnar into the pile of debris at ringside, with the help of The Usos, to get that 10 count and retain his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

During this highly impressive stipulation match, the challenger put the champion in the front loader of the tractor to dump him back inside the ring in a hilarious moment, which was enjoyed by tens of thousands of fans at the Nissan Stadium and watching around the world.
