Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan commented on Pakistan's fielding during the high-octane India-Pakistan clash in Asia Cup 2023. India are taking on their arch-rivals in their season opener of the continental showpiece on September 2, Saturday. The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. While the game began on a good note for the Babar Azam's boys, their poor fielding effort came under the scanners of many.

Though the brilliant bowling effort of Pakistan cricket team got them applauds from cricket pundits across the globe, their poor fielding skills got them under scanners of many. Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan, who was a part of one of the commentary panels during the high-voltage game, took a jibe on the Men in Green and commented on the same.

Pathan, during the commentary, said, " One thing that hasn’t changed in Pakistan cricket for long is their poor fielding."

The star-studded batting lineup of Indian side failed to perform miserably, until wicketkeeper batter Ishan Kishan and all-rounder Hardik Pandya took the helm of team and got a derailed India back on track. Both Kishan and Pandya scored their respective half-centuries, to stitch a 100-plus run partnership and rebuild the India innings.

On the first bowl of 44th over, India lost their sixth wicket as Hardik Pandya departed after playing a brilliant inning of 87 runs off 90 balls. Pandya got dismissed on the delivery of Shaheen Shah Afridi, who with the wicket, recorded his third wicket of the day by conceding 22 runs.
