In their season opener and the third match of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023, India are taking on Pakistan on September 2, Saturday, in Kandy, Sri Lanka. The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and invited the tournament’s hosts to field first. However, riding high on confidence, the Indian team didn’t get a good start as their first wicket came when they were four overs into the game. Rohit Sharma’s dismissal came as a shock to everyone, along with Virat Kohli.
Pakistan’s young and explosive pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi got his first success of the day as he took down the Men in Blue’s leader Rohit Sharma. Sharma who opened the innings alongside Shubman Gill, got dismissed on the sixth ball of fourth over after scoring 11 runs off 22 balls.

As nobody was expecting it, Sharma’s wicket left everyone shocked, including the former captain, Virat Kohli. The reaction of India’s modern-day cricketing superhero quickly went viral on social media, amassing engagement from Indian fans. Notably, by the time Sharma returned to the pavilion, the total score of the team was 15 runs.
When rain interrupted the high-octane clash for the second time, the scoreboard read 51 runs with a loss of 3 wickets for India. Afridi’s second success came in the form of Virat Kohli, who returned after playing a small innings of four runs off seven balls.
