Ons Jabeur pulls out of Doha Open and Dubai Tennis Championship, set to undergo surgery

The hard surface Doha Open 2023 will be played from 12-18 February.

World number three ranked Ons Jabeur has shook the world with her recent post. The Tunisian tennis player on Wednesday (8 February) announced her decision to pull out of the WTA tournaments in Doha and Dubai. Notably, her decision comes after she opted to undergo a surgery.

The World No. 3 took to Instagram to share this update. “In order to take care of my health situation. My medical team have decided that I need to get a minor surgery in order to be able to be back on the courts and perform well. I will have to retire from Doha and Dubai and this is breaking my heat” she said.

However, she did not open much about her injury but confirmed that she will undergo a minor surgery. The 28-year-old crashed out of the recently concluded Australian Open 2023. The top-seeded player lost 6-1, 5-7, 6-1 to former French Open finalist Marketa Vondrousova.

 

The hard surface Doha Open 2023 will be played from 12-18 February in Qatar capital, while the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship will be held from 27 February till 4 March in Dubai.
