Afghanistan are taking on five-time champions Australia in Match 39 of the ODI World Cup at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After winning the toss, the Hashmatullah-led side opted to bat first, posting 291/5 in their 50-over inning. While the Aussies dismissed Rahmanullah Gurbaz early in the inning, Ibrahim Zadran wreaked havoc as he went on to score 129* off 143 balls.

While wickets kept on going at the other end, before all-rounder Rashid Khan played a quick cameo of 35 off 18 deliveries, with his innings including two boundaries and three maximums. Zadran’s unbeaten 129 now stands the third highest individual score against Australia in World Cups. Notably, this score of 291/5 is also the highest team scores for Afghanistan in World Cups.
