The inaugural edition of the Pacific Premier League is giving so many chills already. On the 9th day of the tournament, the trend of some exciting games continued. In the three games played on Day 9, Team Traverse, Team Trully India, and Team Marvellous won their respective games.

While Team Traverse defeated Team Gold Sports 11, Team Trully India beat Team USA Global. Team Marvellous Sojatia emerged victoriously against Team Mahendra Club to take another win home.

Chirag Sharma’s 3-fer helps Team Traverse clinch another win

In the first game of the day, Team Traverse completely owned Team Gold Sports 11 as they beat them by three wickets. After putting the opposition in to bat first, they restricted them to a paltry total of 121/8 in their 20 overs. Chirag Sharma’s 3/28 supported by Mahesh Machhar’s 2/2 and Heeren Gupta’s 2/25 helped Team Traverse dominate with the ball.

In batting, a calculated 33 off 31 balls from Hemant Joshi helped Traverse chase down the total. It was not an easy chase though. Wickets kept tumbling from the other end. Nonetheless, an unbeaten 25 off 19 balls from Samrprit Joshi helped Traverse’s cause.

Batting brilliance followed by bowling masterclass help Team Trully

In the second game of the day, Team Trully India put in a commendable effort both with the bat and the ball. While batting first, the team put a mammoth 197/4 in their 20 overs. Quickfire 40s from Shahbaz Khan (45 off 26), Anup Patel (45 off 28), and Chandrapal Singh Chundawat (42 off 18) helped TTI in batting.

In bowling, Abdul Wahid and Pradeep Kumar wreaked havoc as the duo shared seven wickets among them. While Wahid ended the game with impressive bowling figures of 4-0-18-4, Pradeep Kumar claimed three wickets at the expense of 19 runs in his four overs. This allowed TTI to restrict Team USA Global to a mere 125/8 in their 20 overs and win the game by a massive 72 runs.

Sourabh Chauhan’s all-round brilliance does the job for Team Marvellous

In the third and the last game of Day 9, Team Marvellous bowlers did well to bowl out Team Mahendra Club for 142 in their 20 overs. Despite a 34-ball 65 from Tanmay Tiwari, TMC could aggregate a below-par total that was easily chased down by Team Marvellous. For the winning team, Sourabh Chouhan (3/23), Harshit Nagda (2/12), and Dev Kumar (2/40) impressed with the ball.

In batting, Sourabh Chouhan and Mahijeet Singh Chouhan did the job with their brilliant half-centuries. While Mahijeet scored a 59-ball 70, Sourabh contributed with a 47-ball 62 before perishing.
