Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) pulled off a thrilling 6-wicket victory over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in match 61 of the IPL 2025 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on May 19. Chasing a daunting target of 206, SRH showed great composure and attacking intent, eventually sealing the win. Batting first, LSG posted a formidable total of 205/7 in their allotted 20 overs. The innings was anchored by Mitchell Marsh, who scored a brisk 65 runs, and Aiden Markram, who contributed 53 runs. Despite a middle-order wobble, including the early dismissal of captain Rishabh Pant for 7 runs, LSG managed to accelerate in the death overs. Nicholas Pooran added a quickfire 45, ensuring the team crossed the 200-run mark.
SRH's bowlers, including Eshan Malinga and Harsh Dubey, managed to pick up wickets but struggled to contain the flow of runs on a batting-friendly pitch. Chasing a target of 206, SRH got off to a flying start, thanks to an explosive innings from Abhishek Sharma, who scored a 59-run knock off just 20 balls. Ishan Kishan provided solid support with a 35-run contribution. However, both openers were dismissed by Digvesh Rathi, with the latter also getting into a heated argument with the Delhi-based pacer. A handy 47 off 28 deliveries from Henrich Klassen was enough as SRH won the match by 6 wickets.
