The ICC Women’s World Cup will commence in October 2025 in India. The top eight women's teams across the world will play in this prestigious tournament. While six teams have already booked their spot in the World Cup, two more slots are yet to be filled. A total of six other teams will compete with each other in the World Cup Qualifiers to secure those two remaining slots. It has been confirmed recently that after hosting the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, Pakistan is now set to host another big ICC event; namely the Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.

According to current news, the Women’s World Cup Qualifiers is set to be held in Pakistan from April 4 onwards. The qualifiers will be played between six teams namely; Bangladesh, Ireland, Pakistan, Scotland, Thailand and West Indies. These six teams will compete against each other and the top two will make it to the Women’s World Cup later this year.

Six out of the total eight teams have already qualified for the upcoming ICC Women’s World Cup

The six teams which have already qualified for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 include hosts India, Australia, England, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and New Zealand. These teams earned direct qualification as they were at the top of the points table in the ICC Women’s Championship. This was an ODI tournament held in a round-robin format to determine qualification for the Women’s World Cup. Every team played a total of eight three-match series between 2022 to 2025. The top six gained direct qualification to the World Cup, while the bottom four teams will have to compete in the qualifiers.

Since Pakistan is part of the Women’s World Cup Qualifiers tournament, there is a possibility that they will qualify for the Women’s World Cup which is going to be held in India. In such a scenario, due to an agreement between the BCCI and PCB, any ICC event played between the two nations will be at a neutral venue. So, a neutral venue would hence be decided if Pakistan manages to qualify for the Women’s World Cup.
