Australia skipper and their pace spearhead Pat Cummins recently slammed an Australian media house for falsely potraying his words on India’s undue advantage of playing all their matches in Dubai during the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025. It is to be noted that Cummins is not part of the Australian squad as he was ruled out due to an injury. After guiding the side to victory in the 2023 ODI World Cup in India, Australia are also missing some of their key players, including Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Marsh, and Mitchell Starc.
But recently, the Aussie skipper hit out at an Australia newspaper, Code Cricket for falsely quoting him as they tried to twist the words. The media house in a social media post on X on Tuesday, february 25 alleged that Cummins called out ICC for giving India an unfair advantage in the 50-over tournament.

"You can’t pick and choose where you play and where you’re not going to play... It makes a farce of these tournaments," the Code Cricket tweet read. Seeing this, Cummins took no time to hit out at the publication and stated that he had never said any such thing in the interview and replied, “I have definitely never said this @codecricketau”.
However, earlier, Cummins had stated that India held a distinct advantage as they were playing at one venue. His comments were synonymous to that made by former England cricketer and captain Nasser Hussain and Michael Atherton.
“I think it’s good in that the tournament can go on, but obviously it does give them (India) a huge advantage playing on the same ground. They already look very strong and they’ve got that obvious benefit of playing all their games there,” Cummins had said ahead of the Steven Smith-led side’s match against South Africa.
