Paul Pogba, the former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder, is reportedly in midst of advanced talks with Monaco for making his return to football after the completion of his doping suspension. The 32-year-old, who is a former FIFA World Cup winner with France, is now expected to go back to his home country, to potentially play for the Ligue 1 outfit in the next season after signing a two-year contract with them.
As per the report published on BBC Sport, the discussions between Paul Pogba’s representatives and Monaco officials have taken place in regards to offering him a two-year deal, which might get signed in the next few days. It is understood that both parties have been talking with each other for quite some time after the Frenchman had completed his doping ban and returned to training just prior to the ongoing pre-season.

It was just after the completion of Juventus’s opening match of the Serie A 2023-24 season against Udinese, when Paul Pogba was randomly tested following which a positive sample led to him getting provisionally suspended from football. After receiving a four-year ban in 2023, the appeal from the 32-year-old to reduce the ban was successful, which meant that it was reduced to 18 months last October.
Juventus and Paul Pogba mutually decided to terminate their contract in November of last year, and after the doping ban was lifted in March of this year, he is preparing to restart his football career. Whether or not Monaco decide to sign Paul Pogba on a two-year contract, the next few days will be quite interesting in regards to how a potential deal between the two parties takes shape amid some fan criticism for the development in the world of social media.
