Cricket fans took to Twitter to laud New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson and rising star Rachin Ravindra’s fiery batting against Pakistan in CWC '23. The 2015 and 2019 finalists locked horns with the Babar Azam-led team in the 35th clash of the ongoing ICC tournament. Pakistan skipper won the toss over Williamson, who was making his comeback after being ruled out for a few matches due to injury.

The 1992 champions started off on a favourable note as Hasan Ali dismissed Kiwi opener Devon Conway in the 11th over. However, just when the Asian team thought the game was turning in their favour, Rachin Ravindra and skipper Williamson took steering in their hands. While Ravindra hit another ODI century, Williamson fell short of five runs from completing a ton. However, the 33-year-old became the leading run-getter of New Zealand in the 48-year-old World Cup history.
