Australian cricketer Glenn Maxwell is in the Indian news media once again. While this time around he has not been sold at a scarcely believable price at the IPL Auction as he was already retained by his franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the all-rounder is set to get married to his Indian fiancée on March 27.

However, this is not the only reason behind the buzz around him in news and social media. It is a viral picture of a traditional Tamil wedding invitation of the star Australian all-rounder that has turned the attention towards him.

Notably, Maxwell is engaged to Indian-origin fiancée Vini Raman and now that they have decided to tie the knot, a typical Tamil Brahmin wedding has been planned as can be sensed from the viral image. Meanwhile, netizens have also started to wonder whether there will be a "white gown wedding" too.

Have a look at the viral picture of the wedding invitation here:

With Virat Kohli deciding to step down as the leader of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Maxwell could even find himself leading the team in IPL 2022. The franchise has not yet made an official announcement regarding their captain but they can trust Maxi with the role since he is set to be a regular member of the Playing XI after being retained by the team. In addition, he has some leadership experience, having previously led in the IPL as well as the Big Bash League.

However, consistency has been a real issue for the Aussie and IPL 2021 was the first time in seven years where he managed to breach the 500-run mark. With him seemingly at home with RCB last year and the management trusting him ahead of options like Yuzvendra Chahal as far as retentions are concerned, the 33-year-old would definitely want to repay the faith by some powerful performances in all three dimensions of the game but especially with his batting.

Apart from Maxwell and Kohli, RCB will also have the services of Faf du Plessis and Dinesh Karthik at their disposal after AB de Villiers decided to retire from all forms of the game, making himself unavailable for IPL.
