Jomel Warrican played all-round role in West Indies Test win over Pakistan in Multan
Before playing a key role in West Indies successfully defending the 253-run total, Jomel Warrican had already scored a crucial 36* for his team in the first innings at No. 11, and following that, he took four wickets in Pakistan’s first innings. Prior to the close of play on day two, Jomel Warrican got the important wicket of Kamran Ghulam for 19 off 29 with two fours, to ensure that the hosts were reduced to 48-3 in the run chase.
At the start of day three, Pakistan were 76/4, needing a further 178 runs to clean-sweep the two-match Test series, but Jomel Warrican had other plans. The left-arm spinner ran through the middle to lower order of Pakistan batting lineup, taking the wickets of Kashif Ali, Mohammad Rizwan, and Salman Ali Agha before cleaning up last man standing Sajid Khan, to secure a famous Test match win for West Indies in Multan.
With match figures of 9/70 in the second Test after taking 10 wickets in the first Test in Multan, Jomel Warrican was given the player of the match and series awards.
