On Friday, April 11, defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) handed eight-wicket thrashing to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. After Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out of the season, it was MS Dhoni who returned at helm for the five-time champions after 682 days.
However, the decision at the toss favoured the visiting captain, Ajinkya Rahane, who invited the hosts to put the score first. On the back of a brilliant bowling effort from the three-time champions, KKR restricted CSK to 103 in the 20 overs. It was all-rounder Sunil Narine, who starred for the side picking three wickets, while Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarthy picked two each and Vaibhav Arora and Moeen Ali got one each.
