Will Jacks turned out to be the star with his all-round performance as Mumbai Indians got their third win in IPL 2025 defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad at Wankhede Stadium. After taking two crucial wickets with the ball, Jacks went on to score 36 runs with the bat as MI chased a target of 163 runs comfortably losing six wickets. Coming to bat first after losing the toss, SRH got a good start Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head put up an opening partnership of 59 runs in 7.3 overs. Abhishek got out after scoring 40 runs off 28 balls hitting seven boundaries as skipper Hardik Pandya gave first breakthrough to MI.
However, MI didn’t take much time to take a second wicket as Ishan Kishan got out after scoring two runs against Will Jacks. After a few overs, Jacks struck again a he went Travis Head back to the pavilion at the score of 28(29) runs reducing SRH to 82/3 in 11.1 overs. After that, Heinrich Klaasen scored a crucial 37 runs off 28 balls. Apart from that, Aniket Verma gave finishing touches with 18*(8) runs as SRH posted 162 runs losing five wickets. For MI, Will Jacks registered figures of 2/14, while skipper Hardik Pandya, Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah scalped a wicket each.
Will Jacks top scores with 36 as MI register convincing win
Chasing the winning target, MI lost their first wicket at the score of 32 runs in 3.5 overs as Rohit Sharma got out after scoring 26(16) runs hitting three sixes. Ryan Rickelton also got out after scoring 31(23) runs, followed by Will Jacks' 26-ball 36 runs. After that, Hardik Pandya scored a quickfire 21(9) runs while Tilak Varma gave finishing touches with 21*(17) runs.
MI chased the winning target in 18.1 overs losing six wickets. For SRH, skipper Pat Cummins took three scalps, Eshan Malinga took two while Harshal Patel put one in his bag.
