The Indian Premier League (IPL) is known for its thrilling and high-scoring clash over the years. In every IPL game, the players delight the spectators with huge skyrocket sixes that add more spice to the excitement of the tournament. However, there are some batters who made a habit of smashing huge sixes in almost every IPL game they play.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Chris Gayle boasts a record for the most number of sixes in an IPL innings. The Caribbean legend smashed 17 sixes along with 13 fours during his record-shattering knock of 175*(66) runs against Pune Warriors India at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in IPL 2013.
Before Chris Gayle, the record was previously held by Brendon McCullum after his fiery knock in the first-ever match of the IPL in its inaugural edition in 2008. Playing for Kolkata Knight Riders, McCullum gave IPL a cracking start in the opening match against RCB with his knock of 158 runs off 73 balls. The right-hander smashed 13 sixes and 10 four during his fiery knock.

Murali Vijay has smashed the most number of sixes in an IPL innings by an Indian player. While playing Chennai Super Kings during a match against Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2010, Vijay smashed 127 runs off 56 balls. His innings included eight fours and 11 sixes as CSK posted their highest total of 246/5 and went on to win the match by 23 runs.
Talking about the last edition of the IPL in 2024, Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter Will Jacks smashed the most number of sixes in an IPL innings in that season. Jacks smashed five four and 10 sixes during knock of 100*(41) runs against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad on April 28, 2024.
