The 2022/23 edition of the Plunket Shield began on October 18 – with six teams crossing swords to lift the prestigious title. Auckland Aces entered the competition as defending champions after topping the charts in the previous edition.

The six team – Auckland, Wellington, Canterbury, Otago, Central Districts, and Northern Districts – will play eight matches each with the last round of matches starting on March 21, 2023. 

Notably, defending champions Auckland Aces have won the Shield 24 times which is most in the history. As the second leg of the New Zealand’s domestic season is set to kick start on February 25, let’s look at all the available information of Plunket Shield 2022-23.
