PMGC 2025: New Format Revealed

On the last day of the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, PUBG Mobile revealed the new format for the Global Championship 2025. The highlight of the announcement was the removal of Sanhok and the addition of the Rondo map in the competitive scene.

A total of 39 teams are set to compete in the PMGC 2025, including three special invites, one in the grand finals, and two for the league phase.

The Gauntlet

The Gauntlet will be the first stage of the tournament, where 16 qualified teams from each regional championship will compete in 18 matches over 3 days. The top 6 teams from the Gauntlet will qualify for the PMGC 2025 Grand Finals, while the rest of the teams will move to the Group Stage.

Group Stage

A total of 32 teams will compete in the Group Stage (remaining qualified teams from each region's PMGC points + 10 teams from The Gauntlet). These teams will be divided into 2 groups of 16 teams each, and every team will play 18 matches. The top 4 teams from each group (a total of 8 teams) after 18 games will advance to the Grand Finals; the 5th- to 12th-ranked teams from each group move to Last Chance, while the rest of the teams will be eliminated from the tournament.

Last Chance

The 16 teams from the Group Stage will compete in the Last Chance, where a total of 12 matches will be played across 2 days. The winner of the Last Chance will move to the Grand Finals, while the rest of the 15 teams will be eliminated.

Grand Finals

The PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2025 Grand Finals will be played in December, where 16 teams (6 from Gauntlet + 8 from Group Stage + 1 from Last Chance + 1 team from Host Country Invite) will play.
