In the build-up to the highly anticipated clash between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2024, the Englishman Jos Buttler was all praises for the former India captain, MS Dhoni. The 33-year-old stated that it’s a privilege to get to play against MS Dhoni before talking about how everyone is enjoying watching him bat.
The constant appreciation for MS Dhoni from his peers and the legends of the game comes because of his ability to find success with any team he plays for. During his illustrious career, MSD has won multiple ICC trophies for Team India, apart from taking Chennai Super Kings to the IPL glory for a whopping five times.
Jos Buttler, who has tasted big silverware during his international and franchise career, knows what it takes for a player to reach the pinnacle of the sport, which is why he always raves about MS Dhoni, wherever quizzed about him.
Ahead of Rajasthan Royals taking on Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Star Sports posted a promo of Jos Buttler appreciating MS Dhoni on their official X account. Buttler said, “It’s a privilege to get to play against (Dhoni). And I think everyone is really enjoying, if you ask people about what their favourite part of this season is, a lot of it would be seeing Dhoni bat and hit those shots like only he can.”

Notably, the final league stage game of the IPL 2024 at home, is a must-win for Chennai Super Kings, to have the best possible chance of making the playoffs. On the other side, Rajasthan Royals have arrived in Chennai on the back of two consecutive losses, which isn’t ideal for them in their quest to finish in the top two of the points table.
