The thousands of fans in attendance at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai were treated by Abhishek Sharma to an exhibition of power hitting like no other against England in the fifth and final T20I of the series. The left-handed batter demolished the English bowling attack to score the second-fastest hundred by an Indian in T20I cricket in just 37 balls, to earn plaudits like never before in his international career on the field and social media platform X.

While playing a key role in helping the Indian cricket team get the highest powerplay score of 95/1, Abhishek Sharma also registered the second-fastest T20I fifty in just 17 balls. He continued to smash the pacers and spinners of England, to eventually reach the hundred before going onto register the highest individual T20I score for India, ending up with 135 runs in 54 balls, including seven fours and 13 maximums.

Abhishek Sharma’s potential once in a lifetime innings at the international level allowed the Indian cricket team to score 247/9 in their allotted 20 overs, setting a steep target for the visitors to chase down. With the five-match T20I series already in the bag for India after taking an unassailable 3-1 lead, England will be looking to throw everything at chasing the runs down.

Below are some of the posts for Abhishek Sharma after scoring second-fastest T20I hundred:
