PUBG Mobile is one of the most popular real-time games in the world. Since its inception in 2018, PUBG has reportedly grossed over $2 billion in revenues. Players fight their fingers hard to defeats the other enemies and survive till the last in this game. However, some gamers use unfair means to have an added advantage over other users. While it is unlikely to track all the hackers around the globe, PUBG developers have placed several systems to catch and ban the cheaters.

In a recent report by PUBG Mobile, it has permanently banned over 11 lakh accounts in a week that were found cheating or using unfair means to deploy a greater advantage over normal users. Tencent usually publishes it report every week detailing what actions the game developers have taken against the hackers. The recent report shared for the week between August 6 to August 12 mentions that it has banned 11, 97,429 accounts permanently, which were 11% more than the accounts banned in the previous week. It had earlier banned 10, 80,773 accounts between July 30 to August 5.

On which offences have PUBG banned hackers’ accounts?

PUBG on its Twitter wrote that they have mainly banned account this week due to hackers modifying their character with hacks, using auto-aim to defeat their opponents and accounts that have modified their area of damage.

When we look at the details of the hackers’ accounts that are banned, we find PUBG has reportedly banned:

  1. 77% of the hackers were banned for using third-party plug-ins to gain an unfair advantage through the use of character model hacks.
  2. 6% of the accounts were banned for using auto-aim, which is used to shoot the enemies automatically.
  3. Nearly 4% were banned for using X-Ray visions to see the enemy’s position through opaque objects like walls and covers.
  4. Another 4% were found using unfair movement to outclass the enemies.
  5. 5% were banned for using modified area damage that allowed the hackers to kill the opponent immediately by increasing their bullet damage.
  6. The remaining 4% were barred for reasons which were not specified.

Type of accounts that were banned:

  1. 22% of Crown tier accounts
  2. 21% of Diamond tier accounts
  3. 16% of Platinum tier accounts
  4. 12% of Ace tier accounts
  5. 11% of Bronze tier accounts
  6. 10% of Silver-tier accounts
  7. 6% of Gold tier accounts and
  8. 2% of Conqueror tier accounts
