Rajasthan Royals have had quite a miserable IPL 2021 campaign so far, which has clearly left the fans distraught. The franchise came into this season with high hopes of doing well under their new captain, Sanju Samson. After the appointment of legendary Kumar Sangakkara as the Director of Cricket, the talented RR team were expected to have a highly successful season. However, things are not actually going according to the plans after a rather topsy-turvy first half of the season.

Season keeps on getting from bad to worse for RR

The problems for Sanju Samson's side began with the injury to Jofra Archer before the start of the season. The misery continued after Ben Stokes also got injured in the first match, leaving them without two of their star overseas players. To add salt to the wound, their backup players Liam Livingstone and Andrew Tye also left the RR squad, leaving them with only four overseas options.

The men in pink registered an emphatic win against KKR despite their ongoing troubles. However, their winning momentum was cut short once again after they succumbed to a heavy 7-wicket defeat at the hands of Mumbai Indians on Thursday. The defending champions completely outplayed Rajasthan in all the departments which also left the social media admin of the franchise in complete grief and pain. As soon as the match finished, the RR urged everyone on Twitter to switch to the second game of the double-header Thursday.

Check out the tweet:

The franchise will be hopeful to recover from this early setback and have a strong second half of the season. The Royals will now play against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday and will definitely fancy their chances against the team currently at the bottom of the table.
