The Rajasthan Royals' social media account often succeeds in being in the limelight. While some of the techniques it uses may not be liked by all, it nevertheless manages to attract attention and get good numbers. Perhaps in a bid to do just that, the social media account of the inaugural champions took a dig at former India cricketer turned commentator Sunil Gavaskar.

While Gavaskar is often heard showering praise on batters after they rotate the strike the ball after hitting a boundary or a six, the Men in Pink simply shared the picture of the commentator after their Devdutt Padikkal smashed a couple of sixes and then took a single in the 13th over of their innings against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday.

Earlier, Gavaskar had expressed his concern on the form of Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant. He suggested Pant take his time before going for the big hits and not try and hit everything out of the ground.

"The problem is that either he is trying to attack too early and losing his wicket or if he is set after that he is trying to whack every delivery for a six," Gavaskar said on Sports Tak.

"He has to be a little patient and bat according to the situation of the match. He is a game-changer and the time has come for him to do that if Delhi Capitals are to qualify for the play-offs. He is batting at number 4 and not at number 6. He needs to score at least 60 or 70 runs if he gets to bat 10 overs. These 20s and 30s won't help Delhi," he added.

Pant is yet to get his chance with the bat after Delhi restricted RR to 160/6. The DC skipper had won the toss and opted to field. Chetan Sakariya was the pick of the bowlers for DC, scalping 2 for 23.
