The last league match of the IPL 2024 between the Rajasthan Royals and the Kolkata Knight Riders was abandoned due to constant downpours in Guwahati, Assam. Although, the toss took place in between two series of showers, not a single delivery was bowled in the game. On Monday, the home side announced on social media to refund the face value of the purchased tickets by the valid holders.

The game consisted of enormous value to the home side as the win at Royal’s second home ground could have progressed them to No.2 in the points table considering only one point difference between Sanju Samson’s side and the SunRisers Hyderabad. However, constant downpours ensured that both the teams divided a point each and the inaugural champions moved to Eliminator to face the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

After the game, Rajasthan Royals announced on Monday that the valid ticket holders would return the face value of the ticket. In a post shared on their social media handles, the pink outfit declared that the ticket holders should keep the physical tickets intact for refund and only the face value of the ticket be refunded to the people. Also, they stated that the ticketing partner app Bookmyshow will further communicate with the ticket holders shortly.

The IPL playoffs are set to take place from May 22 onwards with Kolkata Knight Riders to face Sunrisers Hyderabad on the same day in Ahmedabad followed by the Eliminator between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru on the next day, at the same venue. The caravan will then shift to Chennai for the Qualifier 2 which will take place on May 24 between the loser of Qualifier 1 and winner of eliminator. The summit clash will be played on May 26, Sunday at Chepauk between winners of qualifier 1 and qualifier 2.
