The International Cricket Council (ICC) has named Ravichandran Ashwin as the Player of the Month for February 2021. In ICC’s recent introduction of the Player of the Month Award, R Ashwin played a key role in India’s 3-1 win over England in four-match Test series. Ashwin took 32 wickets and scored 189 runs during the series. Along with Ashwin, England Test skipper Joe Root and West Indies' Kyle Mayers were the other two nominees for this award.

R Ashwin, who became the fastest Indian to 400 Test wickets in the third Test against England, became the first Indian cricketer to pick 30 or more wickets in a Test series. The 34-year-old registered this milestone on two separate occasions. He got better of his 31-wicket tally against South Africa from 2015.

Tammy Beaumont wins ICC Women’s Player of the Month for February 2021

England's Tammy Beaumont has been named ICC Women's Player of the Month for February 2021. Beaumont scored a fifty-run mark in the three ODIs she played in February against New Zealand, amassing 231 runs to take England over the Kiwi Women in the series.
