In a big update, the Indian cricket team has been dealt with a major blow. The Men in Blue might miss the services of Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja in the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023. However, his availability for the first two Tests still remains under the cloud as the BCCI selectors are yet to make a decision on his inclusion.

It is to be noted that Ravindra Jadeja recently resumed bowling in the nets at the National Cricket Academy and had also shared a video of the same on his social handle. However, in the video it was seen that the all-rounder had protective tape around his right knee.

The Men in Blue will kickstart the four-match Test series starting from February 9, 2023. The first match will take place at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium (Nagpur) followed by the second Test scheduled to start on February 17 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium (Delhi). The third and fourth Test will then take place in March after a gap of almost ten days.

 

India’s Test squad for the first two Tests against Australia:  Rohit Sharma (Captain), KL Rahul (vice-captain), Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KS Bharat (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), R. Ashwin, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohd. Shami, Mohd. Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat, Suryakumar Yadav.

Note:  Ravindra Jadeja’s inclusion in the squad is subject to fitness.
