Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja’s wife, Rivaba Jadeja, has claimed victory from the Jamnagar assembly seat on Thursday. According to Election Commission’s official website, Rivaba Jadeja, who Bhartiya Janta Party fielded, was leading with a margin of over 50,000 votes as of 4:30 PM against AAP candidate Karshanbhai Karmur.

Meanwhile, India’s prolific all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was campaigning and holding rallies for his wife in the build-up to the elections. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star was ruled out of the ongoing Bangladesh tour, citing injury concerns. The 34-year-old has been missing on-field action since he suffered the injury during Asia Cup 2022 in the United Arab Emirates.

His absence was majorly felt during T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia as the Indian lacked the services of a specialist spin-bowling all-rounder in the middle. Axar Patel was included in the squad as a replacement for Jadeja, but he failed to live up to the expectations.

Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja was also retained by his IPL franchise CSK ahead of the IPL 2023 mini-auctions, which is scheduled to take place later this month in Kochi. There were reports regarding a possible rift between the cricketer and his IPL franchise since he stepped down as CSK captain midway through IPL 2022.

Notably, Jadeja succeeded MS Dhoni as CSK skipper ahead of IPL 2022, but the former champions experienced horrific results and ended up at the bottom of the points table.

The following losses saw Jaddu relinquish the captaincy as Dhoni, his predecessor, took over. The Jamnagar-born cricketer succumbed to captaincy pressure as his performance suffered a massive dip.

He could only accumulate 116 runs from 10 encounters, and with the bowl, he could only manage five wickets. The captaincy pressure also had a rare impact on his fielding, as he was seen dropping some of the easiest catches in the edition.
