The FIFA Club World Cup is set to take place in the USA between June 14 to July 14, 2025. This year’s competition will be the first in the new format featuring 32 clubs from around the world. FIFA recently announced that it will have the potentially biggest prize money for the 2025 Club World Cup of 1 billion US dollars hoping that this will provide a huge boost to club football across the globe. Big European clubs like Manchester City, Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain, and Inter Milan etc., are set to take part in this upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in the United States of America.
With such a big amount for the tournament prize money, it has been estimated that all the clubs participating in the competition are set to receive a major financial injection. In fact, a recent report published by MARCA, a top club like Real Madrid could earn up to 145 million Euros if they end up winning the FIFA Club World Cup.
Complete breakdown of Real Madrid’s prize money
As reported by MARCA, here is the breakdown of how Real Madrid could potentially earn 145 million euros by winning the FIFA Club World Cup. 284 million Euros are set to be distributed amongst the European clubs in the competition with every club receiving a fixed amount of 10 million plus a certain percentage of variable amount based on significance and visibility. On that basis, Real Madrid will earn 35 million Euros purely as a participation fee. If Madrid win all of their three group stage matches, they will earn approximately 6 million Euros.
By playing in all the subsequent knockout rounds from the RO16 till the final, Madrid can earn 7, 12, 20, and 28 million Euros respectively. By winning the competition, Real will receive a winners prize of 37 million Euros. All of this combined brings the total approximate amount that Real Madrid will earn at the end of the competition to a whopping 145 million Euros.
