Florentino Perez, the Real Madrid President, is reportedly wanting to sign Manchester City and Norwegian striker Erling Haaland with the player becoming an obsession of the club’s board members. It is understood that Perez believes in Haaland being the future leader of Real Madrid’s attacking front, scoring a lot of goals for them as their new number 9, which is a rare thing currently at the Santiago Bernabeu-based club.
Notably, to make the signing of Erling Haaland a reality, Real Madrid are going to take into consideration the offers for nearly every member of their current squad, which isn’t something they do regularly. As per the report from Fichajes.net, the Galacticos are willing to spend €150 million to bring in Erling Haaland into the fold, which could be one of the biggest transfers in the history of football.
Erling Haaland could become one of the highest paid footballer in the world
The likes of Antonio Rodrygo, Brahim Diaz, David Alaba, Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, and even Vinicius Jr could leave Real Madrid, to fund a move for Erling Haaland from Manchester City. Florentino Perez is also looking to pay the Norwegian a big weekly salary, which could make him one of the highest paid football players in the world.
With the likes of Endrick and Jude Bellingham being looked upon as the future of Real Madrid, the inclusion of Erling Haaland in the squad could further strengthen the attacking prowess of the club. Moreover, Erling Haaland is currently recovering from an ankle injury, while Real Madrid were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) by Arsenal with a 5-1 aggregate scoreline, and during this tie, they struggled to convert their chances into goals.
