It was an action-packed weekend in the English Premier League as the fans witnessed various records being broken. While Manchester United won the all-important derby to keep the title-race alive, Liverpool suffered another shocking defeat at the hands of Fulham. On the other hand, Jose Mourinho's Tottenham produced a fantastic performance, registering a terrific 4-1 win over Crystal Palace.

Bruno scores the fastest goal in PL against Man City at Etihad

Manchester United's star mid-fielder Bruno Fernandes continued his impressive season as he went on to score the fastest goal (101 seconds) against Manchester City in the history of Premier League at the Etihad Stadium. After Anthony Martial was fouled by Gabriel Jesus, the 26-year-old opened the scoring in the all-important derby contest with a well-taken penalty kick.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side eventually went on to win the contest 2-0 as Manchester City tasted their first defeat since November 2020. The loss also ended a fantastic unbeaten run (28 games) for Pep Guardiola's side.

On the other hand, Manchester United also continued one of their excellent records in the league. The Red Devils, who were 1-0 up against Man City at the half-way mark, are now unbeaten in their last 103 Premier League matches going into the half-time with a lead (W91 D12).

Captain Kane leading from front

Tottenham's captain Harry Kane was once against instrumental as Spurs went on to defeat Crystal Palace 4-1. The 27-year-old became the first player in the history of the club to score 2+ goals and make 2+ assists in a Premier League match in 23 years. The last Spurs player to achieve this feat was Jurgen Klinsmann who did the same against Wimbledon in May 1998.

As Harry Kane scored the fourth goal of the evening after an assist by Son Heung-Min, they became the most successful duo in the history of the league in a single season. Kane and Son have now combined for 14 goals in Premier League 2020-21 as they surpassed the Blackburn Rovers' duo of Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton, who combined for 13 goals during the 1994-95 season.

Fulham's impressive record away from home

Fulham, who are currently in a relegation battle, stunned the defending champions Liverpool at Anfield. Mario Lemina's goal in the 45th minute extended the impressive unbeaten away record for Scott Parker's side (8 matches) in Premier League. They have drawn 6 games in addition to impressive wins over Everton and Liverpool now.

With the defeat, Jurgen Klopp's side is now on their longest ever losing streak at Anfield (6 matches). Liverpool have also become the first side to taste six consecutive defeats on the home soil since Huddersfield Town in February 2019.
