KL Rahul scored a brilliant hundred (108) in the ongoing second ODI between India and England at the MCA Stadium, Pune. Post reaching his ton, Rahul did a trademark "mystery" celebration covering his ears- a message to the noise made by the critics on his batting form prior to the start of the series. Rahul had earlier scored an unbeaten half-century in the first game post a forgettable T20I series against the same opposition.
While the 28-year-old had come in to bat at the number 5 position on Tuesday, an injury to Shreyas Iyer meant he earned a promotion in his batting order on Friday. Rahul not only steadied the ship along with Virat Kohli after the Men in Blue had lost their openers early but even took the attack to the opposition once he got his eye in. In the first ball of the 44th over, Rahul reached his hundred with a single, took off his helmet and put his fingers in his ears, closing his eyes- responding to those questioning his poor run of form.

Rahul has time and again proved his critics wrong. This isn't the first time he has pulled off a celebration like this either as he has often done this on reaching a milestone. Thanks to Rahul's innings, India look in a strong position in the second ODI as they are aiming a total well in excess of 300. The Three Lions are already trailing 0-1 in the three match series.
