With the second edition of Delhi Premier League (DPL) just a day away from start, the Purani Dilli 6 team have been dealt with a massive blow as they will miss their marquee player and star India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant for the upcoming edition. The Indian vice-captain was earlier ruled out of the fifth Test against England due to a fractured foot.

It is to be noted that the 27-year-old Indian wicketkeeper-batter was retained pick for the Purani Dilli 6 side, who secured him for INR 21 Lakh. But a fractured metatarsal on his right foot will now keep him away for the upcoming edition, which has ruled him out at least six weeks.

Vansh Bedi to lead Purani Dilli 6 in DPL 2025 in Rishabh Pant’s absence

While Pant’s absence brings a big setback not only for the Purani side, but also for the tournament as a whole. But while he continues to remain on the sideline, the team has named Vansh Bedi as the captain for the 2025 season. Bedi will have a daunting task to lead the franchise , hoping to guide them into the semi-finals.

Notably, Purani Dilli 6 will kick off their DPL 2025 campaign on August 5 against Outer Delhi Warriors at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The team will be up against West Delhi Lions, New Delhi Tigers, and South Delhi Superstarz in the later stages, hoping to make in the top four.
