After the successful inaugural edition of the Road Safety World Series, the 2nd edition is set to take place in the month of May-June across four venues. Reports have suggested that Hyderbad, Vishakhapatnam, Lucknow and Indore have been decided as probable four venues. Earlier, the tournament was slated to occur in February-March but the dates have been pushed ahead as new developments.

As per source-based reports, organisers were looking to start the tournament in the last week of February but due to some reason, the dates were pushed. Notably, the final will be played in Hyderabad and organisers have already received a letter of intent from Hyderabad Cricket Association. Quoting sources from Hyderabad Cricket Association, reports have claimed that the enthusiasm shown by the legends of the game for the cause of a social gathering and social awareness is highly appreciable, and HCA is "proud to host the tournament."

Due to payment related issues, the tournament was under heavy scrutiny. Reports have claimed that Sachin Tendulkar, who led Indian Legends to the title has decided to not participate in the upcoming edition for similar reasons. But reportedly, organisers have resolved payment related issues with Bangladesh players. Most notable players like Khaled Mahmud, Mehrab Hossain, and Rajin Saleh were not paid for their involvement in the tournament's inaugural edition.

However, in a recently released video, Saleh claimed that he had a great time participating in the tournament and clearly stated that he has received payments for his involvement in the maiden season of the tournament. He also expressed his wish to participate in future editions if given the opportunity.

The inaugural edition saw the participation of players from countries like India, England, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the West Indies. Led by master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, India Legends defeated Sri Lanka Legends by 14-runs and emerged as ultimate champions.
