Tennis fans worldwide have reason to cheer as their favourite and legends of the game, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will once again come together for Team Europe against Team World to defend the title at Laver Cup 2022. On Thursday, the event's organiser informed that the duo would pair up, which would be nothing less than a treat to watch for all.

Both the players confirmed the news by expressing their excitement on social media. Roger Federer took to Twitter and reshared the duo's pic shared from an official Twitter handle of Laver Cup 2022. At the same time, Nadal could not stop himself either by expressing his joy and commented on Federer's post. He wrote, "Roger, who books the practice court? You or me? Winking face looking forward to playing again with you, my friend!" Reportedly, Federer also released a statement saying that "I'm looking forward to getting back into competition later this year and Laver Cup is very much part of my plan," said Federer, whose management company founded the competition."

Nadal has also been quoted by several media reports saying that "If we're able to possibly share the court one more time as a doubles pairing, then this would be a truly special experience for us both at this stage in our careers." Both the players last paired up in their first and only doubles match at the inaugural edition of the event in Prague in 2017. Rafael Nadal recently created history at Australia Open 2021-22 by defeating Russian Daniil Medvedev in the finals to claim his 21st Grand Slam title.
