After becoming the oldest World No. 1 on Wednesday, January 24, Indian star tennis player Rohan Bopanna entered the men's doubles final in the Australia Open 2024. This is Bopanna's maiden appearance in the Australian Open men's doubles final and his second consecutive Grand Slam final with Matthew Ebden.

The 43-year-old along with his Australian partner beat the sixth-seeded Argentinian duo of Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni with the scoreline 6-4, 7-6 (5) in the quarterfinal. In the semifinal, the duo played a sensational game as they won the first set comfortably 6-3 and went on to lose the second set with an identical score. The final set went to the tie-breaker where the Indo-Asutralian duo won by 10-7.

Rohan Bopanna registered his first win as the World No.1 on Thursday (IST) as the second-seed duo beat Zhang Zhizhen and Tomas Machac 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (10-7) in the semifinal under the closed roof at the Rod Laver Arena on Thursday.

The duo of Bopanna and Ebden, who entered the Grand Slam as the World No.3 pair, will now face the winners of the other semifinal clash between the Italian pair of Andrea Vavassori and Simone Bolelli, and the German duo of Yannick Hanfmann and Dominik Koepfer.
