The Rohit Sharma-led Team India is taking on England in the five-match Test series. However, the Men in Blue have already clinched the series, after they won the last three Tests on the trot, they will aim to put up a strong performance and go clear off Australia in the WTC 2023-25 cycle.

As the fifth Test looks titled towards the hosts, Shubman Gill and skipper Rohit Sharma smashed brilliant centuries for the hosts to take a considerable lead. However, Rohit brought his 12th Test century and second in the series, he also became the third player among active cricketers to score most international hundred. He stands third with 48 international tons after Virat Kohli (80) and David Warner (49).

Moreover, he also equaled legend Sunil Gavaskar to become Indian opener with most Test hundreds against England. While Sunil Gavaskar and Rohit Sharma stand at the top of the list with four Test centuries respectively, Vijay Merchant (3), KL Rahul (3) and Murali Vijay (3) complete the top five.  Furthermore, Rohit Sharma is the only Indian cricketer in the WTC’s top-10 run-scorers.

In the ongoing Test, Rohit Sharma scored 103 runs off 162 deliveries before he was dismissed by England skipper Ben Stokes. Talking about the fifth Test, debutant Devdutt Padikkal (44 off 77) and Sarfaraz Khan (56 off 59) have taken the Indian lead to 158 runs at Tea on Day 2 after Ben Stokes cut short Rohit Sharma’s stay and James Anderson did his job for Shubman Gill.
