The Men in Blue are taking on Ben Stokes-led England in the final Test of the five-match series at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. While the hosts bundled out the visitors at the score of 218 on Day 1 of the ongoing Test, Team India skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill reached their respective three-figure mark just ahead of lunch on Day 2.
While Rohit Sharma’s century, 12th overall in Test cricket and second of the series came in the 58th over, Shubman Gill also reached his second Test century of the series in the 59th over after earlier scoring a ton in the second Test in Vizag. Gill smashed a boundary on the second delivery of the 59th over, which was being bowled by Shoaib Bashir, to reach his fourth Test hundred. Soon after his century, he took his cap off and swung his bat, doing his trademark ‘bow down’ celebration. Moreover, Shubman Gill’s father also stood up to accolade this knock of his son as the cameraman panned out to him. The members in the dugout also stood up to celebrate this gritty knock of Gill.

Speaking of the five-match Test series, the hosts have already pocketed the series 3-1, winning three Tests on the trot after losing to England in the opening Test by 28 runs. However, the Men in Blue will aim to win the final Test to go above Australia in the WTC 2023-25 cycle.
