After Italian media,  Corriere dello Sport claimed that Serie A giants Roma are considering sacking head coach Jose Mourinho if the Giallorossi failed to achieve a positive result against Cagliari in their upcoming league fixture on Sunday. However, the Italian club was quick to deny the viral rumours of Mourinho's future being allegedly at risk.

Corriere’s chief editor Ivan Zazzaroni reported that Roma are considering sacking Mourinho following the team's negative result against Cagliari.  Additionally, the newspaper also stated that Roma President Dan Friedkin is looking to replace the Portuguese coach with ex-Bayern Munich coach Hans-Dieter Flick.

The Italian newspaper reported that the Roma President has already decided to replace Mourinho following a 4-1 loss against Genoa on September 28. While Roma have won both their UEFA Europa League 2023-24 matches in the group stage, they have won just two games in the Serie A this season and are currently placed in the 13th spot with eight points in seven matches so far.

However, as reported by the Italian news agency, ANSA, Roma have denied the rumors of Mourinho's sacking. The reports also stated that the club have called the rumours "fake" and they haven't contacted Flick to replace Mourinho at the club.

Roma will travel to the Sardegna Arena to face Cagliari on Sunday in the Serie A and will face Monza in their next game before resuming their UEL campaign against Group G toppers Salvia Praha. Roma will host the Czech club at the Stadio Olimpico Tour on October 26.
