Rajasthan Royals registered their fourth-straight win of the IPL 2024 after defeating the Ro yal Challengers Bengaluru by six wickets. This victory ensured the Royals clinched their third game at home and jumped to the top of the table. Talking about the toss, Sanju Samson once made the right call and decided to bowl first after winning the coin flip.
Unlike RCB's previous games, the opening duo of Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis got the side to a stunning start. The experienced pair posted a 125-run opening stand before the South African star was dismissed. But Kohli held one end up and stitched short partnerships with Saurav Chauhan and Cameron Green to help RCB post 183 as he completed his eighth century in the IPL.
Then in the second innings, the Royals were struck with an early blow as Yashasvi Jaiswal was out after a two-ball duck. But reducing the side, Samson and Jos Buttler got into the driver's seat and took the game away with an incredible batting effort. The duo combined to post 148 when the RR captain got out at a score of 69 in 42 balls.
But like Kohli, Jos Buttler held one end and scored runs fluently to carry Rajasthan over the finish line. Though RCB picked up a few wickets, the Royals were in cruise control to register a six-wicket victory.
