Rassie van der Dussen will be leading South Africa in the upcoming T20 tri-series against hosts Zimbabwe and New Zealand in Harare, starting on July 14. The 36-year-old will be taking over the reins of South African T20I squad from Aiden Markram, who is going to get rested from the tri-series, and one of the biggest player inclusion in the squad is Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) teenage sensation Lhuan-dre Pretious, who has received his maiden T20I call-up for the national team.

Apart from Lhuan-dre Pretorius, another star from South African domestic and franchise cricket, Rubin Hermann, is also a part of the squad of South Africa for the tour to Zimbabwe. The likes of Corbin Bosch and Senuran Muthusamy, who have played for the national team in Test and ODI formats, will be in line to make their T20I debut next month against either Zimbabwe or New Zealand as well.

Dewald Brevis returns to South Africa T20I setup after a long time

Dewald Brevis, who has performed quite impressively in the T20 circuit in the past couple of months, could also play for South Africa for the first-time in two years on the tour to Zimbabwe. The likes of Nandre Burger and Gerald Coetzee, who have been injured for quite some time, are also picked in the South African squad to make their return to international cricket.

The head coach of South Africa, Shukri Conrad, who played a key role behind the scenes in securing the national team their first ICC trophy in 27 years, defeating Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) final 2025, will be coaching them for the first-time in T20I format. The final of the tri-series will be played on July 26 after each of the three teams get the chance to play each other twice in the league stage.
