Rumours of a BGMI tournament have been creating buzz online, with fans waiting for the official confirmation. The rumours suggest that it will be a large-scale tournament with a significant prize pool. The highly anticipated return of Background Mobile India is the reason behind the rumours, and fans are awaiting some major esports tournaments such as Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BGIS) and BGMI Master Series, that offer impressive prize pools.
The rumours started to gain attention when the coach of Hyderabad Hydras, Nishant "iFlicks" Murlidharan, hinted at a large-scale event during one of his livestreams. He said that an official tournament with a prize pool of tens of millions is around the corner. After discussing esports and different communities around it, iFlicks told his viewers that there is an upcoming BGMI tournament with a prize pool worth of crores. Another reason that hints at the tournament is an Instagram picture posted by Naman "Mortal" Mathur from the official launch of BGMI.
Meanwhile, the Hyderabad Hydras player, Kaushal "Ksr07" Rajput and Zishan "Mazy" Alam, who works closely with Krafton suggested that gamers can expect the official announcement by the end of June. However, there hasn’t been any official confirmation from Krafton so far, but statements from the esports personalities suggest that an official tournament is underway.
