Austria has revealed their squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the former Manchester United coach, Ralf Rangnick will be hoping to make a name in the glorious stage. Austria will be playing in the FIFA World Cup after 28 years and they failed to get through to the knockout stages in their previous appearance as well. They have been drawn into Group J alongside Argentina, Jordan and Algeria. David Alaba will be leading the side and he would be willing to make an impact in the international stage. Marcel Sabitzer and Marko Arnautovic would be amongst the players that could prove to be key in the midfield and finishing in the attacking third.
They have qualified for the World Cup 8 times in total including the 2026 edition of the FIFA World Cup. Their best result came in the 1954 FIFA World Cup, when they finished in the third position. In recent times, Austria has enjoyed a fair bit of form with three wins in their last five international games. Their most recent victory came against South Korea in the international friendly. Austria could possibly finish along with Argentina in the Top 2 and they could go through to the knockout stages. It will require quite some good form if they will have to advance to the knockout stages. After being absent from the World Cup for more than two decades, they will be hoping to give something extra for the fans to cheer about.
