The Keshav Maharaj-led Durban super Giants had an outing to forget in the inaugural edition of the SA20 league, South Africa’s premium T20 league. While the side became the second team to get eliminated from the league stage after finishing fifth in the points table, only above MI Cape Town with 19 points.

However, cometh the new season, the Super Giants will aim to go all roaring with some new faces in their ranks. With only three slots remaining ahead of the Player Auction, which took place on Wednesday, 27 September in Johannesburg, the Durban Super Giants picked Jason Smith for R 175 K, followed by welcoming Bryce Parsons as the Rookie Pick.

Earlier, the side had named Nicholas Pooran as their wildcard pick for the 2024 edition of the SA20 after the team had released and traded eight players which included the likes of Jason Holder, Akila Dhananjaya, Dawid Willey, etc.

Talking more about the Keshav Maharaj-led side, the Super Giants will begin their 2024 season on January 11 at Kingsmead against MI Cape Town and will then lock horns with inaugural champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape at the St George’s Park on January 13.
