Sam Curran, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder, brought out a new celebration after scoring his first fifty in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. After reaching the 50-run mark, Sam Curran could be seen gesturing about calling someone while looking at the CSK dressing room, potentially sending a message to them.
Notably, when CSK lost the wicket of their opener Shaik Rasheed early after being sent into bat first by PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer, it signalled the arrival of Sam Curran to the crease. The left-handed batter saw the likes of Ayush Mhatre and Ravindra Jadeja lose their wickets early, but he went about his business calmly, and stitched together an innings-defining partnership of 78 runs with Dewald Brevis.
With regular boundaries coupled with decent running between the wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on a hot and humid night, Sam Curran reached his fifty in 30 balls with Shivam Dube in company at the other end. Following that, he went into overdrive in his innings, collecting 26 runs in one over of Suryansh Shedge.
