During the fifth T20I of the five-match series against England at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Indian opener Sanju Samson fell to the short ball trap once again for yet another low score. After getting off to a flyer in the first over against the high pace of Jofra Archer, the right-handed batter lost his wicket to a searing delivery from Mark Wood aimed at his ribs, and shortly after, many fans slandered him no end on social media.

Notably, on the very first ball of the match from Jofra Archer, a short length delivery, Sanju Samson deposited it into the stands for a statement-making six. The second ball from Archer hit the finger of Samson, on which he received some treatment before ending the over with a four and a six, to reach 16 runs in the over faced, but on the next ball, bowled by Wood, he found the deep square leg fielder in an action replay from last match.

With that tame dismissal, Sanju Samson finished the five-match T20I series with just 51 runs to his name in five innings at an average of 10.20 and a strike-rate of 118.60. His highest score of 26 in 20 balls came in the first T20I a couple of weeks ago at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, which is a far cry to his three hundreds in five innings last year.

Below are some of the posts on X slandering Sanju Samson dispersed with some positive words:
