Team India registered a thrilling win in the first T20I against Sri Lanka. Debutant Shivam Mavi was the star with the ball as he picked a 4-wicket haul. Deepak Hooda and Axar Patel were the saviour for India with the bat as the duo's brisk partnership helped Team India post 162 on board. Indian wicketkeeper Sanju Samson also returned in the Playing XI but had a forgettable outing as he got dismissed cheaply and dropped a catch in the field. And it seems the bad luck continues for the Kerala-born cricketer as he is set to miss the second T20I due to a knee injury.
According to reports, Samson has swelling on his knee and he has not travelled with the team to Pune. With Samson unavailable, Team India is likely to include Washington Sundar in the playing XI.
Notably, India is currently leading the 3-match T20I series after registering a 2-run win in the 1st T20I which took place at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, Arshdeep Singh is available for selection for 2nd T20I. The pacer was not included in the Playing XI for 1st T20I as he was recoverinh from illness but the youngster is set to replace Harshal Patel in 2nd T20I.
Team India's Probable XI for 2nd T20I:
Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya (c), Deepak Hooda, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Shivam Mavi, Umran Malik.
